Which Stamp Pad Fits Trodat? Find Your Match

 

You may think your stamp is dead when it begins to leave a weak impression. Its just missing the proper pad. So when people ask us what pad fits my trodat stamp. Well there is a model number that is located on your stamp. Its not based on the size of the impression or what words are on your stamp.

Trodat stamps will take only a certain model number of pad. When your stamp has a fresh new pad in it you will receive clear and legible impressions. While keeping your stamp working properly for your address, name, sign off, date and day needs. Sometimes people order what they think will work but will not fit their stamp. Always know your model number when ordering.

What Stamp Pads Fit Trodat

Most trodat replacement pads will have a number on them that corresponds to the model of your stamp. As an example if your stamp is a trodat 4913 you would most likely need a trodat 6/4913 replacement pad. This will apply to most of our Trodat Printy stamps. 4911, 4912, 4913, 4914, 4915, 4921, 4922, 4923, 4924, 4925, 4926.

This is a general guideline for trodat printy stamps. There are many other models that trodat makes that will not follow this numbering. We carry many different sizes and styles of trodat stamps. Some of which may take different replacement pads than what you may expect.

Always check the side or top of your stamp to see what model your stamp is. If your stamp says 4913 you will want a 6/4913 replacement pad. If your stamp is a 4926 you will want a 6/4926 replacement pad.

Finding Your Model Number On A Trodat Stamp

Look at your stamps plastic housing. Most will have there model number molded or written somewhere on the case. Usually near the Trodat logo. If your stamp is very well used you may not be able to read your model number. Make sure to wipe down the housing with a dry lint free rag. Look around the stamp to make sure you find your number.

Your stamp plate is not always what you want to go by when finding your replacement pad. Many stamps have the same message on them but will not use the same replacement pad. The length of your impression can also vary. Know your model number when looking for a replacement.

If your model number has worn off your stamp. Try to find a number on your current pad. Remove your pad from your stamp by locking your stamp down. You can look at your old pad and see if there is a number on it. Have this number ready when searching for a new replacement pad. Also take pictures of your stamp and old pad if possible to show the vendor what you have.

How To Remove A Trodat Stamp Pad

Your stamp should only be pushed down about a quarter inch. Make sure your stamp is locked into place by using the buttons on the side. You do not want to yank the pad out of your stamp. This will damage your stamp and not give you proper impressions.

When your stamp is locked into place you can push or slide your pad out of your stamp. It should come out with little pressure. Do not pry on your stamp to get your pad out.

Using The Correct Replacement Pad

By using the correct replacement pad for your trodat stamp you will receive crisp clear impressions. Your pad will be placed at the correct height for your stamp plate. Allowing you to have consistent impressions on your documents.

If your pad is not correct for your stamp you may experience some issues. Your impression may not be as clear or may be too wet. Your pad may also not lock into place or go back up into your stamp. This can be very frustrating when you have deadlines or many documents to stamp.

If your stamp is used on many documents you want to make sure you have the correct replacement pad. Having your address not show up on all your outgoing mail is not ideal. Same goes for any other type of stamp you may use in your office.

Picking Your Color

Once you have determined what replacement pad you need you will want to pick your color. Most stamps are used with black ink. If you need your stamp to stand out a bit more blue is a great choice. You can also use red for your trodat replacement pad. Just make sure your document will call for the color you choose.

We do sell some multi color replacement pads. These will only work on stamps that are made to take multiple colors. If your stamp only takes one color you will need a one color replacement pad.

Refill Your Old Pad Or Buy A New One?

If your pad is in good condition you can refill your current pad. Use our refill ink and add a few drops to your pad. Allow the ink to absorb into your pad. Test your stamp on a piece of scrap paper to see how it looks.

If your pad is worn out or has been used for a long time we recommend buying a new one. You can continue to put more ink into your old pad but it will not give you the best results. Make sure to use ink that is made for self inking stamps. And keep the same color you currently have.

How To Install A New Trodat Stamp Pad

Once you have your stamp locked down you can insert your new replacement pad. Make sure your pad is facing the same direction as your old one did. Unlock your stamp and begin stamping. You may get darker impressions at first. After a few test stamps your image should look nice and crisp.

If your stamp is still giving you light impressions. Make sure your pad is inserted all the way into your stamp. If your stamp is giving you very wet impressions try stamping a few more times before using your stamp.

Try not to touch your ink when placing your new pad in your stamp. You may get ink on your finger and rub it on your papers or other items. Always have a piece of scrap paper handy when changing your pad.

If Your New Pad Is Not Giving You Good Impressions

If your new pad is not fixing your impressions you may need to look at your stamp plate. Wipe your stamp plate down with a dry rag. You do not want to scrub your stamp plate. You could remove some of your details on your stamp.

Make sure you are using the proper paper for your stamp. Some types of paper will not accept your stamp as well as others. Also make sure you are pressing down on your stamp with enough pressure.

If your stamp housing is starting to wear out you may want to purchase a new stamp. Depending on how you use your stamp you may want to change them out once a year. So your customers can always get the proper information.
